By using LearnLess, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LearnLess ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

LearnLess provides:

  • Learning Addiction Analysis: Analyze your saved content (GitHub Stars, YouTube Watch Later, browser bookmarks) to identify learning hoarding patterns
  • Duplicate Detection: Identify duplicate content across platforms
  • Focus Mode: Block distracting websites during focus sessions via Chrome Extension
  • Project Validation: Verify project completion to unlock new learning resources
  • Learning Path Generation: AI-powered personalized learning recommendations
  • Dashboard & Analytics: Track your recovery progress and addiction metrics

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
  • One person or legal entity may maintain only one free account

3.2 Account Responsibility

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage from unauthorized account access

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service (except our official API)
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without a paid subscription
  • Create multiple accounts to bypass free tier limitations
  • Share your paid account credentials with others

5. Third-Party Integrations

5.1 OAuth Permissions

When you connect third-party services (GitHub, YouTube, Google), you grant us permission to access:

  • GitHub: Read access to your starred repositories
  • YouTube: Read-only access to your Watch Later playlist
  • Google: Basic profile information (email, name, avatar)

5.2 Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for complying with third-party service terms
  • We are not responsible for changes to third-party APIs or service availability
  • You can revoke OAuth permissions at any time via Settings

6. Subscription and Payments

6.1 Free Tier

  • Limited to 100 analyzed items (GitHub Stars + YouTube videos + bookmarks)
  • Analysis refreshes every 7 days
  • No project validation required

6.2 Pro Subscription ($12/month)

  • Unlimited analysis items
  • Real-time analysis refresh
  • Advanced duplicate detection
  • AI-powered learning path generation
  • Priority support

6.3 Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe
  • Prices are in USD and subject to change with 30 days notice
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds for partial months or unused features
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

LearnLess, its logo, and all related content (text, graphics, code, UI) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Your Rights

  • You retain ownership of your data (GitHub Stars, YouTube lists, projects)
  • You grant us a license to process your data to provide the Service
  • You can export or delete your data at any time

7.3 Open Source

Portions of LearnLess may be open-sourced under specific licenses. See our GitHub repository for details.

8. Termination

8.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your account shows suspicious or fraudulent activity
  • You fail to pay subscription fees (for Pro users)
  • We are required to do so by law

We will provide notice when reasonably possible, except in cases of legal requirements or security concerns.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • 100% accuracy of analysis results
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers
  • Availability of third-party API integrations

9.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEARNLESS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US).

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.

You agree to waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

11. Miscellaneous

11.1 Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

11.4 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LearnLess.
